EBONIZED SPINDLE BACK BENCH by Miikana Woodworking
This striking Shaker style bench is made from solid ash or white oak with every part made right here in our Loveland, Colorado-based shop. We turn every leg and spindle, carve and shape the seat, and meticulously assemble the bench using wedged mortise and tenons - not a single nail or screw is used in its construction. Yes, it takes longer, but this time-proven technique is just one detail that ensures your bench will last a generation. We can make these benches from 3' to a maximum of 10' and we can add arms for an additional $150 cost. For restaurant and commercial uses, we can join benches together to create a near seam-less seating surface of any length. These benches can be used in entryways, used in pairs with a dining room table, or could be a centerpiece in your corporate office.
We also make this bench in a "backless" version and you can ADD stretchers to the lower portion of the bench. Please contact us for example photos and pricing.
This bench has an amazing ebonized (black) finish - an organic oil/wax finish that yields a deep black, matte/satin finish that still allows the grain pattern to show through. The bench receives a pre-color of 'intense black' and then receives two coats of a durable, no VOC oil/wax mixture. We can also finish our benches with a traditional varnish, stain, chalk/milk paint or interior paint. The options are unlimited. Feel free to ask for a sample of the finish.

Free Local Delivery:
We offer free delivery within a 30-mile radius of Loveland, CO. Those craftsmen who built your piece of furniture will personally deliver the piece and carry it into your home or place of business. We'll make sure that it's placed correctly and then answer any final questions. Unlike shipping companies, we prefer to deliver in the evenings or on the weekends (Sundays) so that you don't have to take off from work and we will provide you with a +/- 15 minute delivery window.
In the following states (Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico) we also prefer to deliver our own furniture (if applicable) and provide you with the same customer-focused, white glove service as above. Our fee covers fuel and tolls and is less than the cost of freight shipping, plus our Sunday delivery times are much more convenient.
For all other areas, we ship via freight carriers with a 7-10 day delivery period (sometimes faster). Your piece will be carefully packaged and wrapped for the trip, and then we build a custom wooden box to ensure the furniture arrives safely. Each piece is covered in plastic, wrapped in soft blankets and plastic wrapped. They are secured well inside the custom wooden crate. One side of the crate has easy access so it can be easily opened at its destination. The freight carrier will contact you to arrange delivery (usually a 4-5 hour window) and then they will deliver the box. The customer is then responsible for unpacking the furniture (we'll provide instructions) and disposing of the packing materials. Most pieces ship for $300-$600; oversize items incur additional charges.
